By appointing 45 year old Nitin Nabin as the working president, BJP has created a record which has shocked everyone inside and outside the party. Nitin Nabin, born in 1980, is now the youngest president in the history of BJP. But his appointment is not special just because he is young. If you look at the list of current Chief Ministers and State Presidents of BJP, then it becomes clear why the equation of height and age of Nitin Nabin is different from everyone else.
Nabin is younger than any BJP Chief Minister
Nitin Nabin is only 45 years old. If we look at the list of Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states across the country, there is not a single Chief Minister who is younger than him. The youngest Chief Minister of BJP is Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh, who is 46 years old. Nitin Nabin is one year younger than him. Firebrand leaders like Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath (53), Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami (50) and Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma (56) are also older than Nabin. Tripura CM Manik Saha (72) and Gujarat’s Bhupendra Patel (63) are one generation ahead of him. This figure proves that BJP has now completely handed over the command of leadership to the ‘Next Gen’.
Different among the crowd of state presidents
Not only the Chief Minister, the state president who heads the BJP in major states of the country is also older than Nitin Nabin. Rajasthan’s President Madan Rathore (71) and Jharkhand’s Babulal Marandi (67) are much older than him. Even his own home state Bihar president Dilip Jaiswal (62) and Uttar Pradesh’s Bhupendra Chaudhary (57) are seniors. Only K from Tamil Nadu. Annamalai (41) is the only leader who is younger than Nabin, but BJP has now appointed Nainar Nagenthiran as the state president in his place. But reaching the post of National President at the age of 45 is a historical record in itself. B.Y., considered the young face of Karnataka. Vijayendra is also 50 years old.
Unique combination of youth enthusiasm and experience
The specialty of Nitin Nabin is that at the age of 45, he has the experience which even many 60 year old leaders do not have. Becoming MLA for 5 consecutive times at such a young age shows how popular he is among the public. He has made a seat like Bankipur his stronghold. He has handled huge ministries like road construction in Bihar government. That means he has the skills to run an organization as well as a government. He did not become a leader overnight. He has given 2 decades to the organization. His journey from being the Bihar President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha to becoming the election in-charge in Chhattisgarh has been one of struggle and success.
first president from eastern india
There is another historical aspect to the appointment of Nitin Nabin. He is the first president in the history of BJP who is not only from Bihar, but represents the entire eastern India. Till now BJP presidents were often from Western, Southern or Northern India. JP Nadda also had connections with Bihar, but Nabeen being completely the face of Bihar and the East shows the growing ambitions of BJP in that region. Murli Manohar Joshi has been representing North India. The selection of Nitin Nabin shows that PM Modi and Amit Shah are seeing the picture of India in 2029 and beyond. A president who is younger than any Chief Minister of the country, but no less than anyone in experience, is the new ‘masterstroke’ of BJP.
