New Delhi. National Youth Day 2022: The real name of Swami Vivekananda was Narendranath Dutt. The name of Swami Vivekananda is recorded in history as a scholar who considered service to humanity as his paramount religion. Swami Vivekananda, an Indian monk who came into the international limelight with his fluent speech at the Synod in Chicago, USA, was born on 12 January 1863 in Bengal. Swami Vivekananda became very popular due to his eloquent and outspoken speeches, especially among the youth. This is the reason why the whole nation celebrates his birthday as ‘National Youth Day’. National Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12 January.
Swami Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna Mission in Kolkata in 1897 for the service and philanthropy of humanity. At the same time, in 1898, Ramakrishna Math was also established in Belur on the banks of river Ganga. This mission was named by Vivekananda after his guru Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Let us tell you that in 1984, it was announced to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day. After which every year since 1985, 12 January is celebrated as National Youth Day.
