After this, the High Court directed the SEC to re-review his claim. Accordingly, the SEC held a hearing and restored his name in the voter list. Congress had alleged that there was a conspiracy by the Left Democratic Front to remove Vaishna’s name from the voter list.
His victory is not only a political victory but also a victory in the legal battle. The reason being that his name was removed from the voter list just before the elections. But he did not give up. Muttada Ward is a major residential area of Thiruvananthapuram. It was in the possession of CPM for the last several years. UDF gave ticket to Veshna Suresh from here and today the results are in front of everyone. However, as soon as his claim from Muttada seat came to light, a controversy was attached to him. Yes, there was a controversy that his name was removed from the voter list. This dispute started in early November 2025. Veshna Suresh’s name was included in the supplementary voter list, which was part of the draft list released on September 29. But a complaint came from CPM, alleging that Veshna Suresh’s name has been added irregularly. After this, the Election Commission took action on the complaint of CPM and in mid-November, Veshna Suresh’s name was removed from the voter list.
In this way she became ineligible to contest the elections, because it is mandatory for the candidate’s name to be in the voter list. Congress termed it a political conspiracy. Veshna Suresh alleged that the ruling CPM exerted pressure to oust the opposition candidate. Veshna Suresh said that her family has been living in Muttada for years and there was no proper hearing in the process of removing the name. After this he approached the Kerala High Court. On November 17-18, the court reprimanded the State Election Commission and said that the process of removing names was unfair. The court decided to clear the name. Ultimately the State Election Commission reinstated the name of Veshna Suresh.
