This new hybrid variety looks like mustard in the field, but when eaten, its taste feels sweet like cabbage. Scientists claim that this greens is not only different in taste but is also rich in nutrients.
Azamgarh: As soon as the winter season arrives, corn bread and mustard greens remain at the top of people’s food choices. But now if you want to taste a new and wonderful taste of this combination, then the scientists of Agricultural Science Center of Azamgarh have prepared a very unique offer for you. Here such a variety of mustard greens has been developed whose color and appearance is exactly like mustard, but tastes like cabbage. That means two types of pleasure in one saag.
Cabbage flavored mustard greens
Agricultural scientists continuously develop new hybrid varieties of vegetables, but most of the hybrid vegetables lack taste. However, the most special thing about this new hybrid species prepared in Azamgarh is that its “double role” surprises people.
Agricultural scientist Dr. Vijay Kumar Vimal tells that a variety named Narendra Sarson Saag 1 has been developed in Azamgarh KVK. This crop looks exactly like mustard in the field. Its leaves are wide and dark green in color. Seeing it, no one will be able to recognize that any significant change has been made in it. But its real magic lies in its taste, because this greens does not taste spicy like mustard but sweet like cabbage.
