Taslima Nasreenslams Slams Mohammad Yunus: Taslima Nasreen has raised serious questions on the safety of minorities in Bangladesh while targeting Mohammad Yunus. He said that Yunus shed tears at the funeral of Jihadi Hadi, but maintained silence on the barbaric murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das. According to Nasreen, the arrests made under pressure are just an international show. He warned that religion-based justice would make the restoration of democracy an illusion.
New Delhi. Famous Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen has made a scathing attack on her country’s interim government and chief advisor Mohammad Yunus. While exposing the condition of minorities in Bangladesh and the dual character of the government, he said that justice there is decided only by looking at the face. Taslima alleged that on one hand the entire country and Yunus himself are mourning the death of Jihadi Hadi, while on the other hand there is silence over the barbaric murder of poor Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das. Deepu was beaten and burnt by the mob but the screams of his family did not reach the corridors of power.
Taslima Nasreen sarcastically said that Yunus attended the funeral of the Jihadi wearing a cap and shed tears but not a single word came out of his mouth on the brutal murder of Deepu. He claimed that when the news of massacre of Hindus appeared in the foreign media, Yunus, under pressure, ordered the arrest of ten people just for show. Nasreen believes that this arrest is just a drama and an attempt to throw dust in the eyes of the international community because these accused will later be quietly released.
People across the country cried for Jihadi Hadi. No one even turned to look at the innocent, poor Hindu youth who was beaten and burnt to death by a gang of jihadis. The sound of Dipu Chandra Das’s family’s cries did not reach anyone’s ears.
