Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMS) has offered a Voluntary Retirement Scheme for some permanent employees in its motorcycle and scooter units.
Permanent employees above 40 years can apply for VRS
According to the letter sent to the Manesar factory workers of the company management, applications for VRS can be submitted from January 5 to January 23. VRS is for all permanent employees except the director level officers of the company. In the company, permanent employees above 40 years, who have completed 10 years by 31 January 2021, can apply for VRS. According to the letter, director-level officers will not be able to participate in the scheme.

The manager can get up to Rs 67 lakh, sub-manager Rs 48 lakh, assistant manager Rs 36 lakh, senior executive Rs 31 lakh, executive Rs 27 lakh and assistant executive up to Rs 15 lakh.

The first 400 employees to opt for VRS will get extra Rs 5 lakh
The company is offering an additional Rs 5 lakh to the first 400 employees who opt for the scheme. According to the letter, the Indian automobile industry is currently going through a challenging phase as sales have plummeted due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and consequently the economy slowed down.
The two-wheeler company said that in such a difficult situation, the management is trying to repair its operational and production activities. The company’s total sales in December 2020 increased by 3 percent to 2,63,027 units.
