Tiktok has confirmed receiving the notice from the Government of India.
The Indian government first banned 59 Chinese applications in June and then 118 other apps in September.

Tiktok has confirmed receiving a notice from the government when contacted. A Ticktok spokesperson said, “We are evaluating the notice and will respond appropriately.” Tittock was one of the first companies to follow the directives issued by the Indian government on 29 June 2020. We constantly try to follow local laws and rules and try to do our best to solve any concern of the government. Ensuring the privacy and security of all our users is our top priority. ”

It is worth noting that in June last year, India had banned India Bans 59 Chinese Apps. These included apps such as TicketLock and UC Browser. The government had banned these 59 Chinese apps under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. In a statement issued by the Central Government on this decision, it was said, “As per the information available with us, these apps are involved in some activities which are harmful to the defense, security, sovereignty and integrity of India”.
After this, the government banned 118 other apps in September last year.
