These ingredients are required to make Walnut Halwa. Walnuts – 1 cup, cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp, desi ghee – 2 tbsp, milk – 1/2 cup, saffron – 1/2 pinch, jaggery as per taste. You can easily make Walnut Halwa with all these ingredients and enjoy it with your family.
If a walnut is hard then it has to be softened first. To soften the walnuts, heat water and put the walnuts in it. After this, let the walnuts boil for 15 to 20 minutes, this will soften them. After this, take out the walnuts from water and put them in a mixer and grind them coarsely.
Now take a pan, put it on the gas and add ghee in it and heat it. When the ghee becomes hot, add coarsely ground walnuts in it and fry for some time.
Keep frying the walnuts until they become golden. When it turns golden, add milk to it and fry for a minute. Then add jaggery for sweetness and fry until all the milk dries up. After this add some saffron and cardamom powder into it.
Now to enhance the taste of this halwa, many types of dry fruits can be added. For example, you can grind cashews, almonds etc. and add them. Walnut pudding is not only tasty to eat but is also very beneficial for the body. Prepare it once and keep it and eat it for several days. Its quantity should be consumed very less, two spoons at a time is enough.
