Methi Matar Paratha Recipe: The pleasure of eating hot food in winter is different. When the cold air outside hits the face, the fresh paratha being prepared inside the house makes the heart happy. Especially in such a season when fresh fenugreek and sweet peas are available in abundance in the market, then making Methi Matar Paratha is a really great idea. This paratha is not only tasty but also healthy as fenugreek keeps the body warm and peas add mild sweetness and good texture to it. Many people want a breakfast in the morning which fills the stomach and also gives taste, then this paratha is perfect for them. With this you can serve curd, butter, pickle, garlic chutney or green chutney. The aroma of a little ghee on top makes this paratha even more special. Children also eat it with great enthusiasm because the taste of fenugreek is very mild and due to peas, the paratha also tastes a little sweet.

Therefore, it becomes a great breakfast for the whole family, even if you are in a hurry for office, this paratha is easy to make. Just prepare the stuffing of fenugreek and peas in advance, then in the morning you just have to roll the paratha and bake it. So, now let us know the easy way to make it so that you too can enjoy the delicious taste of Methi Matar Paratha in your home this winter.

Ingredients required to make Methi Matar Paratha
-Flour-2 cups
-Fenugreek leaves-1 cup
-Salt -as per taste
-Oil or ghee – as per requirement
-Peas-1 cup (boiled)
-Ginger-garlic paste -1 teaspoon
-Onion-1 (finely chopped)
-Cumin – half teaspoon
-Green chilli-1-2 (finely chopped)
-Red chilli powder -half teaspoon
-Turmeric – half teaspoon
-Garam masala – half teaspoon
– Coriander powder – half teaspoon

How to prepare methi pea stuffing?
First of all, wash the fenugreek leaves thoroughly and chop them finely. Boil the peas and grind them coarsely so that the stuffing remains smooth and there is no problem in filling. Now heat some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds in it. When cumin starts crackling, add onion and fry a little. After this add ginger-garlic paste and cook well.

Now add green chilli and chopped fenugreek to it. Fenugreek leaves its water after some time, so cook it till the water dries up. After this add peas and mix both well. Now add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala. Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes so that the flavors of the spices get mixed well. The stuffing is ready – now keep it to cool.

Take flour in a big vessel. Add salt and 1-2 spoons of oil or ghee in it. Add water little by little and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15 minutes so that it sets and becomes easier to roll.

How to roll and bake paratha?
Now make small balls of the dough. Take a ball and roll it into a light round. Place a spoon of stuffing in the middle. Close the dough by joining the edges and then roll it gently like a paratha. Heat the pan and put the paratha on it. First fry it lightly without oil. Then apply a little oil or ghee on both sides and fry until it turns golden. When the paratha starts rising and brown spots appear on both sides, then the paratha is ready. Take out the hot paratha in a plate and serve with curd, pickle, butter or chutney.
