New Delhi. In London, the legal team of fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi has claimed that the abduction took place on 23 May. On Thursday, the team said that four citizens of the United Kingdom (UK) were involved in this work, three of whom are allegedly of Indian descent. It is said that after kidnapping Choksi, he was brought to Dominica from Antigua and Barbuda. Choksi has been accused of illegally entering Dominica. The team of lawyers has called it ‘nonsense’.
The team, led by lawyer Michael Pollock, said the four traveled from London to Antigua and Dominica. During this, he has also given details of the alleged activities of these people for one and a half months. During the press conference, Pollock said that in early April, a British national, Barbara Jarabic, alias Barbara Jose, had arrived in Antigua from London with another person. After this, Barbara allegedly reached Dominica via a private aircraft.
He claimed that Barbara stayed with this man for a few days before coming back to Antigua. The next day the four people, including two other people – Gurmeet Singh and Gurjit Bhandal – came to London. Pollock said Singh and Bhandal tried to dock the yacht at the Dominica port during their stay in the Caribbean in April. According to him, the April visit was a “failed attempt to kidnap or reconnaissance Choksi”. He also presented some papers and photographs related to his entry into Dominica on May 25. It was claimed that the people seen in the photo are Bhandal and Singh.

On the question related to this, Pollock said, ‘I think the motive is clear… India wants to remove Choksi for India’.
