Amit Kataria, resident of Gurugram, Haryana, has studied Electronics Engineering from IIT Delhi. After this, he secured 18th position in UPSC exam in 2003. While doing engineering, he got job offers from many big foreign companies, but he decided to become an IAS. He first came into the headlines when he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing dark glasses. This is from the year 2015. During that time, PM Modi had visited Bastar in the month of May. The then collector of Bastar was Amit Kataria.
First of all, PM Modi reached Jagdalpur by special plane and then Amit Kataria along with the then Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh welcomed PM Modi there. The matter is of the year 2011. At that time Kataria was the collector of Raigarh. He had chased away BJP leader Roshanlal Aggarwal from his office by saying ‘Get out’ when he had come to meet him to present the side of the poor regarding the encroachment taking place during the construction of Gauravpath in the jute mill area of Raigarh.
