Know what Lekhi had to say
When journalists referred to ‘farmers’ who had allegedly attacked the cameraman while covering the protest at Jantar Mantar, Lekhi said, “You stop calling them farmers, they are not farmers.” They are playing in the hands of some conspirators. Farmers do not have time to sit at Jantar Mantar. They are working in the fields. There are middlemen behind them (protesters), who do not want the farmers to get benefits. When asked about the attack on a journalist and the January 26 violence, Lekhi said, “You again called him a farmer. They are mawali.’
