Darbhanga: On hearing the name of chickpea, we often imagine chickpeas being eaten with chaat or samosas made from peas or chickpeas, but today we are telling you how to make such a wonderful chickpea from lentils, whose taste rivals even mutton. This desi style Masoor Chhola is very easy to make and even the guests coming to your house will not get tired of praising its amazing taste.
To make better and tastier lentil chola than in hotels, first of all preparation has to be done. For this, take a glass of lentils and soak it in water overnight, so that it swells properly.
To make delicious chickpeas the next day, follow this method:
Prepare tadka: First of all, put a cooker on the gas stove and add a small amount of mustard oil in it. When the oil is well heated, add cumin seeds, bay leaves and dried red chillies to it.
Fry Onions: After the tadka is fried, add finely chopped onion to it. Keep in mind, since you are making delicious chole, the quantity of onion will be slightly more. Fry all these things together until the onion is roasted till about 50%.
Add spices: When the onion is half roasted, add the mixture of spices to it. Add turmeric powder, dry red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and Kashmiri red chilli powder to this mixture. Now fry the onion well with these spices.
Add lentils and cook: When the spices and onion are fried well, then add the lentils soaked overnight and fry for some time.
3 whistles: After adding lentils, close the cooker and let it whistle for three whistles. Switch off the gas stove after three whistles.
Now you can serve hot lentil chickpeas. This wonderful Chola will taste delicious with Litti, Samosas, Puri, Roti, Rice or Pulao.
