To make tomato-basil soup, you will need 1 cup fresh basil leaves, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon cumin, ginger paste, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Add 1 cup water, salt and sugar as per taste (optional), and finally use green coriander for garnish.
Making tomato soup is quite easy. To make this, first wash the tomatoes thoroughly. Then, cut the tomatoes into small pieces. If you want to keep the soup smoother, you can remove the skin of the tomatoes. Along with this, wash the basil leaves also properly.
Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin, finely chopped onion and ginger paste and fry. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft. After this add turmeric and red chilli powder and fry. Add salt at the end, so that the tomatoes soften quickly and roast well.
Now add water to this tomato mixture and add basil leaves and boil for some time. When the soup starts boiling, reduce the flame to very low. Let the soup cook thoroughly on low flame, so that its taste and qualities can fully develop.
After boiling the soup well, turn off the gas, you have the option to filter it or keep it as it is. Sprinkle coriander on top and serve it in a hot cup or bowl. This soup works as a panacea in cold, which boosts immunity and helps the body to fight viruses.
