Darbhanga: Everyone likes the taste of brinjal vegetable, but have you ever tried brinjal bhaja? This spicy and crispy dish gives a new dimension to your food in the cold season. It neither takes much time to make it nor does it require much material. So let’s learn how to make it at home!
Learn Baingan Bhaja Recipe
1- Ingredients of Baingan Bhaja 4 medium sized round brinjals,
2- 2 tbsp gram flour,
3- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
4- 1 teaspoon chili powder
5- ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
6– ½ teaspoon lemon juice
Salt (as per taste), oil (for frying) and chaat masala (for garnish).
Method of preparation:
1. Preparation- Cut the brinjal into rounds and wash it thoroughly. Where in a large bowl, mix gram flour, turmeric, chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt. Add brinjal pieces to it and coat well. If needed, add 1-2 spoons of water.
2. Cooking – Heat the pan on the gas and add oil in it. – Spread the brinjal pieces in a circular shape on the pan. – Flip it once it gets cooked from one side. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Take out the prepared bhaja in a plate and garnish with chaat masala.
3. Serve- Serve hot with chutney, sauce, or raita. Enjoy it with tea or coffee in cold weather!
Learn Tips:
1- Cut the brinjal thinly so that it cooks quickly.
2- Mix some water in gram flour and keep the batter thick.
3- Add Bhaja only when the oil is hot, otherwise it will stick.
4- If you want to cook with less oil then use air fryer or oven.
5- To make it crispy, add baking powder (1/4 teaspoon).
Ways to enhance the taste of brinjal bhaja
1- Lamington: Add onion, tomato, coriander on top.
2- Chutney: With tamarind, mint, or litchi chutney.
3- Salad: With chopped onion, cucumber and tomato.
