According to local authorities, the accident occurred in the San Mateo Atenco area, which is located about 5 kilometers from Toluca Airport and about 50 kilometers west of the capital Mexico City. According to the Associated Press (AP), this plane was flying from Acapulco, located on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Mexico State Civil Protection Coordinator Adrian Hernandez said that there were eight passengers and two crew members on board. He said, ‘So far seven bodies have been recovered, while search and rescue operations are going on.’
