Ahmedabad. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has carried out a major operation in the Arabian Sea near the Gujarat coast. The Coast Guard has seized a Pakistani boat on charges of illegal fishing in Indian waters. All 11 crew members on board the boat have been arrested. Officials said on Thursday that the security agencies took immediate action and foiled this infiltration attempt. All those arrested have been handed over to Jakhow Marine Police of Gujarat for detailed interrogation and further legal action.
Infiltration was taking place in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). This incident took place on Wednesday when Indian Coast Guard ships were on regular patrol. During this time, he saw a suspicious boat inside the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of India. The Coast Guard immediately responded and surrounded the boat. Upon investigation, it was found that it was a Pakistani fishing boat which had illegally entered the Indian border.
Defense PRO gave information
Gujarat Defense Public Relations Officer (PRO) Wing Commander Abhishek Kumar Tiwari gave information about this operation on the social media platform ‘X’. He said, “The Indian Coast Guard on Wednesday took prompt action and seized a Pakistani boat fishing in India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and arrested 11 crew members.”

Wing Commander Tiwari said that this action underlines the Coast Guard’s continued commitment to maritime operations and the security of India’s borders. It also reflects strict enforcement of international laws within India’s maritime zones (MZI). “Continued vigilance in India’s maritime domain is an important pillar of our national maritime security strategy,” he stressed.
Security agencies are investigating
Now the security agencies will try to find out from the captured Pakistani citizens whether their motive was only to catch fish or there was some other conspiracy behind it. The boat has also been searched to ensure that there is no objectionable material in it. It is noteworthy that due to Gujarat’s coastline being adjacent to Pakistan, it is considered very strategically sensitive and the coast guard here is always on high alert.
