New Delhi. Rumors of sudden death of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan started spreading on social media on Monday, due to which the atmosphere in Pakistan became tense. It was claimed that he was murdered in Adiala jail, although such reports were not confirmed by any official source. Neither the government nor the jail administration – no one commented on these claims, due to which both fear and anger increased among the supporters.
Sisters alleged – ‘Did not meet for three weeks, police pushed me’
Amidst these rumours, Imran Khan’s three sisters – Nooreen, Alima and Uzma – reached Adiala jail and said that the police treated them and PTI workers ‘barbarically’. He alleges that the administration is not allowing him to meet his brother for three weeks. The sisters also said that the government is hiding the condition of Imran Khan. As soon as these allegations came to light, PTI supporters started gathering outside the jail and demands were raised to provide ‘proof of security’.
Net worth of Rs 410 crore – Palace, cars and VIP helicopter created a luxury life
On one hand there is political uncertainty, on the other hand Imran Khan’s luxurious life is again in the headlines. According to reports, his total net worth is around Rs 410 crore. This property includes Islamabad’s famous Bani Gala Mansion, which is said to be built on 181,500 square yards. Its value is estimated to be around $750 million, which is one of the most expensive private properties in Pakistan. Apart from this, his Zaman Park House in Lahore is worth Rs 2.9 crore, where big meetings of PTI have been taking place. He also has agricultural land and farmhouse. Due to VIP travel by helicopter, the government expenditure during his tenure had reached approximately 1 billion Pakistani rupees. Talking about vehicles, he is often seen in Toyota Land Cruiser and Mercedes Maybach S600, even though the vehicles are not named after him. In 2022, he had declared assets worth Rs 18.56 crore and in 2023 he had paid more than Rs 1.5 crore in tax.
Legal crisis deepens, future uncertain – 14 years’ sentence and increasing questions
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were recently sentenced to 14 years and 7 years respectively. Heavy fines have also been imposed on both. Amidst the political tension, the market of rumors is hot and many big questions are being raised from the security of Imran Khan to the future of his property. PTI supporters say that the government should maintain transparency and the family should be reunited immediately. The silence of the government is further intensifying the rumours.
