Lucknow. There is bad news for people traveling by auto rickshaw in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Soon the fare of auto rickshaw is going to increase here. The Auto Rickshaw Three Wheeler Association has demanded an increase in the fare. The Sangh is hopeful that the green signal will be given by the government to increase the fare soon. Tell that, there is a large section of students as well as students in Lucknow who depend on auto rickshaws for movement. In such a situation, the increase in the fare of auto rickshaw will have a big impact on the pockets of the people.

Student Anurag Singh told that if seen for auto drivers, this decision is correct. This will help them to live, but it will be a problem for the students because we travel by taking money from our parents. On the other hand, student Jhalak told that her current rent is around Rs.85. When it increases, the fare will go above Rs.150. In such a situation, one month’s auto fare for commuting to college will be more than the college fees.

The total increase in operating cost in the year-2023 (January) as compared to the year-2014 (February) is- 9.816-4.694 = 5.122. Hence the fare should be 6.39 (current fare) + 5.122 = 11.512, but the fare proposed by the union is Rs.25 for the first two kilometers or part thereof. After that, for one kilometer or part thereof, the night fare should be Rs 12, 25 per cent more than the day fare and the waiting charge should be Rs 2 per minute.

Auto rickshaw fare has not increased since February 2014

Prabhat Kumar Dixit, president of the Auto Rickshaw Three Wheeler Association, said that after February 2014, the fare of auto rickshaws has not been increased. Inflation has increased manifold in eight years. CNG has become expensive. Car repairs have become expensive. Apart from this, everything from vehicle insurance to driver’s salary is getting affected. The fare is being increased so that the livelihood of the drivers continues.

He told that the letter to increase the fare has been handed over to the State Transport Authority. Apart from this, other big officials of Lucknow have also met regarding this.
