Who struggled a lot since childhood… hence now he is a part of the blind team of Madhya Pradesh. Shubham Patel, who comes from Panagar, a village in Jabalpur, is only 22 years old.
Shubham’s father is a farmer and mother is a housewife. Shubham had problems with his eyes since childhood. The eyes used to come. Where the doctors had advised to install an eye tube. When Shubham started inserting eye tubes, his eyes did not get cured, on the contrary, there was a reaction with the eye tubes and he lost his vision. Due to which Shubham’s parents got worried and consulted many big doctors. But success did not come. Finally the doctor advised to remove the eye and replace it with a stone eye.
did not accept defeat
Shubham says that he was fond of playing cricket since childhood. But I had to study, for which I first studied till second class in the village school. During this time, a brother from the village advised me to take admission in a blind school. After which he completed his studies till 12th from Blind School of Jabalpur. He told that his dream was to become an officer after studying. For which he took admission in the college of Jabalpur for graduation degree and also obtained MA degree with craft subject. During this period he also used to practice cricket regularly.
Selection in MP team
He told that he used to play tournaments in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, but got the opportunity to go to Delhi because of Giani Bhaiya because due to some reason he was not able to participate in the tournament. Due to which he got my ticket for Delhi, then I got a chance to play cricket in Delhi and from here I started playing with the blind team of Madhya Pradesh. He told that in that match, I was made to open, but was caught out after scoring only 5 runs in 3 balls. Since then this caravan has continued and I remain a part of the team as an all-rounder.

Shubham says that problems are the name of life, problems will keep coming, but one should never give up because victory comes only after defeat. He told that when India’s women blind team can lift the World Cup, then how can we as men accept defeat, these things motivate us a lot.
