Black pepper: The agricultural land of Ghazipur is famous for mango, sugarcane and vegetables, but recently the dark green or black round pepper being grown here has attracted everyone’s attention. This chilli, which has a round shape and a shine like black pearls, is extremely spicy in taste, so much so that one chilli makes the entire pan spicy. According to Ashutosh Pandey and Mayank Singh, students of the Department of Agri Business Management, this chilli grows rapidly in 20–30°C temperature, 5–6 hours of sunlight and soil containing vermi compost and cow dung manure and starts giving fruits in 55–60 days. Its spiciness is due to the high amount of capsaicin and its Scoville Heat Unit is above 30,000. Along with eating, this plant is also very popular for decorative use.
