In Khagaria, two doctors who were missing from duty for years were finally removed from service. Dr. Monica was absent from 2019 and Dr. Kundan was absent from 2021. When there were no doctors in the hospitals of Khagaria, when questions were asked the system was silent! We had asked on LOCAL 18 – If the hospital is closed, the doctor is absconding, then why is there no action? Why is there a fear in suspending these responsible people who carry the hospital on the bier? Why are only notices sent to doctors who have been missing for years, why are they not dismissed? Why no response is sought from officers like DM and Civil Surgeon? Now the government has lost its sleep and has terminated the services of those doctors who have not returned to duty for years. On Tuesday, the cabinet approved the dismissal of Dr. Monica and Dr. Kundan Kumar.
Lock was hanging on Sadar Hospital and PHC
Let us tell you that Dr. Monica was missing from Sadar Hospital since 24 January 2019, while Dr. Kundan was absent from Mansi Saidpur PHC since 9 September 2021. Due to the absence of both, the patients had to turn to private clinics, especially for the treatment of children, the situation was very serious. After the civil surgeon’s report, the health department investigated, issued warnings and notices, but there was no effect. Ultimately, the dismissal of both was finalized with the approval of the cabinet.
7 doctors on leave in June-July, but questions still remain on the system
When Local 18 tried to show the pictures of the hospital on the bier and the shameless health system through ground report, not only Dr. Monica and Kundan, but 7 doctors have been dismissed in the last two months. These include doctors from Alauli, Maheshkhunt, Beldaur and Khagaria who were missing without information between 2020 and 2021. The department issued showcauses, correspondence and even published notices in newspapers, but the result was zero. The question is, why is there so much delay in taking action on such cases and can the system shirk its duty just by blaming the doctors?
