The shortage of urea has increased in the entire district during the Rabi (wheat, potato) crop season. Food fertilizer mafia is selling urea black to farmers at Rs 400-500 per bag. There is a lot of black marketing of urea. The officers and employees of the Agriculture Department are fully supporting the fertilizer mafia in this game. Most of the urea from Motihari district is being smuggled to Nepal. Farmers have also accused the district administration of colluding with black marketing of fertilizers. Farmers Chandra Ram, Aklu Bhagat, Rampravesh Shah alleged that we are buying urea for Rs 400 to Rs 500. The fertilizer shopkeeper is selling urea for Rs 500 instead of Rs 363 in the dark of night. District Agriculture Officer Manish Kumar said that such cases have come to light. Soon an FIR will be registered against the fertilizer shopkeepers involved in black marketing. On the other hand, the administration’s yellow claw was used against encroachment in Motihari. On Friday, action was taken against the encroachers who had been occupying government land for years and opening shops in Meena Bazaar, Moti Lake as well as in many areas near Gandhi Chowk in Motihari city.
