Delhi in trouble, entire city engulfed in black dense fog. (video grab)
The havoc of air pollution in Delhi has increased to such an extent that even breathing has become difficult. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) reached 491 in Akshardham area on Sunday morning, while 483 was recorded in India Gate and Connaught Place, both in the ‘severe’ category. In view of this dangerous situation, the Delhi government has implemented the fourth phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-IV). Entry of trucks has been completely banned under GRAP-IV, diesel heavy vehicles of BS-IV and below are also banned. However, permission has been given for movement of essential goods. Apart from this, all construction and demolition activities have been stopped, even projects like highways, roads and flyovers have been stopped. Hybrid mode (online and offline) will be adopted in schools except for classes 10th and 12th, while closure of colleges and other educational institutions in NCR is being considered.
On the other hand, vigorous action is going on on the recent violence in Malkangiri, Odisha. Malkangiri SP Vinod Patel said that the main accused of this violence, Subha Ranjan Mandal, has been arrested. He said that there will be a fast-track trial. To maintain peace, flag marches are being conducted in sensitive areas along with BSF, CRPF and state police. Six people have been arrested in another case related to this riot.
Another shocking news has come from Assam, where a former Air Force officer has been arrested on charges of espionage. The officer was sending confidential information to Pakistani agents through social media. Assam Police said that this is a matter related to national security, and investigation is going on.

Police raid in Loni, Ghaziabad, fake medicine factory busted
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has taken major action against fake medicines and exposed an organized racket. Police has busted a factory manufacturing fake medicines in Loni area of Ghaziabad, from where thousands of fake medicines for skin related diseases have been recovered.
According to the police, this factory was active for a long time and the fake medicines being manufactured here were being supplied all over North India. The Crime Branch team had received secret information that fake medicines were being sold in many areas including Sadar Bazar of Delhi. After this, the police planned and conducted a raid in Sadar Bazaar, from where a large quantity of fake medicines were recovered.

Even breathing is difficult in Delhi, GRAP-4 implemented
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi has reached dangerous levels. Dense poisonous smog is present in areas like Akshardham, India Gate and Connaught Place. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), AQI 491 was recorded in Akshardham area, while AQI 483 was recorded around India Gate and Connaught Place, which falls in the ‘severe’ category.
Considering the situation, GRAP-4 has been implemented in Delhi-NCR. Under this, the entry of trucks in Delhi has been completely stopped. However, trucks carrying essential goods, LNG/CNG, electric and BS-VI have been exempted. Diesel heavy vehicles of BS-IV and below have also been banned, except for essential services. All types of construction and demolition work has been banned, including big projects like highways, roads and flyovers.
