Toxic Air in Delhi NCR: At present, the situation in Delhi-NCR is bad due to air pollution. At many places the air quality is in the severe category and smoke is visible as far away as possible. For the past several weeks, the air has been extremely poisonous and many people are trying to avoid diseases with the help of air purifiers. Due to air pollution, many people have also decided to leave Delhi-NCR. The story of an American woman is going viral on social media, who has decided to shift to Bangalore due to poisonous air. Many doctors have also advised respiratory patients to leave Delhi-NCR for a few weeks. Not only the common people, but even the doctors themselves seem to be troubled by air pollution.
Dr. Khilnani, Chairman of PSRI Institute of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, who was a former HOD at Delhi AIIMS, had advised people suffering from lung disease to leave Delhi for a few months a few weeks ago. He had said that the coming months could be very troublesome. Breathing poisonous air is not free from danger not only for patients but also for healthy people. Due to the severe level of pollution in Delhi-NCR, it can make pneumonia caused by viruses or bacteria more fatal. Due to this, the risk of death can also increase manifold.
Air pollution is very dangerous for children
Dr. Potluri Chetan, Consultant Pediatrician, Yatharth Hospital, Noida told StuffUnknown. That poisonous air is most dangerous for children. Due to this, problems like pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infection, skin allergy and burning sensation in the eyes are arising in children. Air pollution is badly affecting every organ of children. The problem of blocked nose, throat and mouth, dryness and snoring is increasing in children due to toxic air. Due to this, cases of wheezing are also increasing. If children have to live in such poor air quality for a long time, their lungs can become weak and many serious respiratory diseases can occur. Parents should protect children from air pollution at all costs, otherwise serious problems may arise for them.
Poisonous air is more dangerous for such patients
Dr. Bhagwan Mantri, former pulmonologist of Moolchand Hospital, New Delhi, told StuffUnknown That patients with asthma, COPD and respiratory problems have to face the most problems due to poisonous air. These problems can be triggered due to air pollution. Such patients are often advised that if possible, they can go to clean places instead of Delhi-NCR for a few days. If this is not possible, then use an air purifier and stay at home as much as possible. Wear an N95 mask while leaving the house. During some months in winter, the air quality in Delhi-NCR remains very poor. In such a situation, even healthy people should be extremely careful.
Doctors are also worried due to air pollution
Not only the common people, but many doctors also seem to be worried about the deteriorating air quality. They say that they too are living in this poisonous air and their health is also suffering a lot. People should understand that air pollution is a very serious problem and one should not be careless about it. Every possible effort should be made to avoid air pollution, especially in winter, so that respiratory problems do not increase. The number of patients suffering from respiratory problems is highest in Delhi-NCR as compared to other cities, because the air here remains bad for most of the months of the year.
