If you also want to eat something good and nutritious for breakfast, then salty barley can be a tasty and nutritious option. Since barley is made from wheat flour, it is quite nutritious. If barley is not available, some people also use market vegetables. At the same time, to enhance the taste of food, people add vegetables as per their choice. Of course, you must have prepared many tasty and healthy dishes but if you have never tried salty barley for breakfast till now, then definitely try it this time. So let us know the easy way to make salty barley-
Salted Barley Ingredients
1 cup barley
1 cup – finely chopped onions
1 cup finely chopped potatoes
1/2 cup peeled peas
2-3- green pepper
2-3 spoons celery
1/2 inch grated ginger
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 small cup green coriander
As per taste- red chilli powder
Salt as per taste
How to make Salted Barley
To make salty barley at home, first chop onion, potato, green chilli and coriander finely. After this, the barley has to be fried in a pan without oil. Meanwhile, heat oil in another pan and add celery. Now add chopped onion and potatoes also. Keep in mind that the flame should be low and cover the pan and cook until the potatoes become soft. Now add peas to it and cook it until it becomes soft.
Once the peas become soft, add barley, salt, red chilli, green chilli and 1.5 cups of water. Lower the flame, cover with lid and leave to cook till the water evaporates. However, keep stirring it occasionally. Turn off the gas once the water evaporates.
Now squeeze lemon into the prepared salted barley and mix it well. After this, garnish it with chopped tomatoes and coriander and serve it hot. In this you can also use corn kernels as per your taste.
