The concern of security agencies about Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is continuously increasing. Patiala House Court has extended Anmol’s NIA remand for 7 days. However, in view of this increasing threat to Anmol, the court took an unprecedented step and the entire hearing was conducted inside the NIA headquarters.
In fact, Anmol Bishnoi’s lawyer told the court during the hearing that his client is in serious danger to his life. On this, NIA also filed its report in the court and admitted that some inputs have been received, which raise concerns about Anmol’s safety. Considering the arguments of both the parties, the special judge decided that the next appearance should be held in the NIA office itself, so that any untoward incident can be prevented.
Anmol Bishnoi is accused in many high-profile cases. Anmol is the main accused in everything from the conspiracy to murder NCP leader Baba Siddiqui to the firing at the house of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. After he was brought from America to India, the court had imposed many security conditions while giving his custody to NIA. These included strict arrangements like medical examination every 48 hours, video recording of the entire route of bringing Anmol to the court and sharing information about the route with the court in advance. Along with this, NIA also had to tell what measures are being taken for security.
Despite all this, the fear of danger did not diminish. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has deep and old enmity with many gangs including Bambiha gang. Security agencies fear that the rival gang may try to attack during the court appearance, which may raise serious questions on law and order. This is the reason why both the agency and the court, without taking any risk, decided to convert the NIA office into a temporary court.
These circumstances have placed Anmol Bishnoi in the list of the most sensitive and high-risk prisoners in the country. This situation related to his security explains why the agencies had to take such strict action and why it became necessary to convert the NIA office itself into a court.
