Ambala: Sanatan Dharma is said to be the oldest religion and many gods and goddesses are worshiped in Sanatan Dharma, out of which Lord Shiva is considered to be the most worshiped god and has the title of Devadhidev. In Sanatan Dharma, Pradosh Vrat is considered to have special significance and this day is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Actually, according to the Panchang, Pradosh fast is observed on the Trayodashi date of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha of every month. On this day, there is a tradition to worship Lord Mahadev, the God of Gods. Along with this, if Pradosh Vrat is observed as per the rituals, the blessings of Bholenath remain on the devotees and they get rid of many types of obstacles, problems, fear of untimely death, fear, lack of money, negative influence of planets etc.
what is the auspicious time
He told that on the day of Pradosh Vrat, the auspicious time of puja will start at 5:38 pm on December 17 and it will end at 8:18 pm. He said that this fast has great importance in Hindu religion, hence avoid lying on this day and do not wear black clothes. Along with this, one should not consume meat, fish, eggs, alcohol on this day and should avoid telling lies, otherwise it is believed that worship does not yield results.

While explaining the worship method of the fast, he said that the devotees first have to wake up early in the morning and take bath and then wear clean clothes. With this, clean your place of worship and purify it with Ganga water, then spread a red cloth on a post and install Shivling.

He said that Shivling should be up to 9 inches, because it is considered auspicious in homes. Along with this, anoint Shivling with Ganga water. He told that for the puja, materials like Belpatra, Dhatura, hemp, milk, curd, honey, ghee, sandalwood, Akshat, flowers, incense, lamp, naivedya etc. are required and the devotee must chant Om Namah Shivay mantra while offering water on Shivalinga.

He said that offer Belpatra, Dhatura and Bhang on Shivalinga and then decorate Shivalinga with flowers, Akshat, sandalwood etc. After all these rituals, light a ghee lamp and place it in front of Shivling and perform the aarti and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. He told that sweets or sweet Panjiri and fruits should be offered to Lord Shiva. After this, take a resolution for Pradosh Vrat and seek wishes from Lord Shiva.
