Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) described the last three years as difficult for the developing countries and said that India, following the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, celebrates the principle of globalization, but the developing countries do not wish for such globalization which is climate change. In his address on the second day of the ‘Voice of Global South’ digital conference, Prime Minister Modi said, “The last three years have been difficult for developing countries. Covid-19, rise in prices of fuel, fertilisers, food grains and rising geo-political tensions have affected development efforts.

He said, “We all appreciate the principle of globalization. Indian philosophy has always been to see the world as one family. However, developing countries do not wish for a globalization that creates a climate crisis or debt crisis. “Modi said,” We want a globalization where there is no unequal distribution of vaccines or highly concentrated global supply chains. . We want a globalization that brings prosperity and benefits all humanity.

He said that we developing countries are also worried about the growing fragmentation of the international scene and these geopolitical tensions distract us from our priorities.

Heavy increase in fuel and food items
The Prime Minister said that due to this there has been a sharp increase in the international prices of fuel, food and other products. He said that to deal with such geopolitical fragmentation, we urgently need fundamental reforms in major international institutions including the United Nations Security Council.

“We urgently need fundamental reform of international bodies, including the United Nations Security Council. These reforms should focus on giving voice to the concerns of the developing world and reflect the realities of the 21st century.

During his address, the Prime Minister announced the ‘New Arogya Maitri Project’ to provide humanitarian assistance to developing countries. He said, “I announce the new Arogya Maitri project. Under this project, India will provide essential medical supplies to developing countries affected by a natural disaster or humanitarian crisis. Will establish.

He said that this institute will research for development solutions in our countries, which will be promoted and implemented in other member countries of the Global South. ,
