KVIC is running 84 Khadi institutes in Jammu and Kashmir. 10 thousand 800 artisans are attached to these institutions. All the artisans have been given financial assistance under the scheme of KVIC.
Together with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), the youth of the three areas are fighting this war. The number of these youth in Jammu and Kashmir is more than 10 thousand. All of these together with the Commission are making face masks of Khadi. At the same time, the maximum production of winter-saving and fashion symbol Pashmina shawls is also being done in Kupwara-Pulwama and Anantnag with the help of the Commission.
KVIC is running 84 Khadi institutes in Jammu and Kashmir. 10,000 artisans are associated with these institutions. All the artisans have been given financial assistance under the scheme of KVIC. During the corona and lockdown itself, the commission sent nearly Rs 30 crore help directly into the bank accounts of these artisans. At the same time, Khadi institutes and artisans have been added once again by disposing 951 disputed cases from 2016-17 to 2018-19.

KVIC President Vinay Kumar Saxena says that through a special campaign, KVIC has made thousands of women artisans working in self-help groups in Jammu, Udhampur, Pulwama, Kupwara and Anantnag stitching Khadi face masks. . About 7 lakh Khadi face masks were prepared by these women artisans and were supplied to the Jammu and Kashmir government.
60 percent of Pashmina shawls are made in Kupwara-Pulwama and Anantnag
KVIC President Vinay Kumar Saxena says that 12 Khadi institutes, especially in Jammu and Kashmir, are working on making Pashmina shawls preferred at international level. More than 60 percent of these shawls are produced in South Kashmir region i.e. Anantnag, Bandipora, Pulwama and Kulgam. Buyers of products made in Jammu and Kashmir are found in large numbers in states like Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. These products are being sold through various Khadi India Cell outlets and KVIC e-portal.
