Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president JP Nadda reached Kolkata in West Bengal on Thursday. Here JP Nadda has a program to address a public meeting in Nadia district today. He will first offer prayers at the ISKCON temple in Mayanpur in the morning, followed by a public meeting at around 12.30 pm. In this tour, he will also meet the leaders of many organizations of BJP. Panchayat elections are to be held in West Bengal in no time, apart from this there are also Lok Sabha elections next year. In view of this, JP Nadda’s tour of West Bengal has been fixed.

This is his first visit to the state after the term of the post of BJP president was extended by one and a half years. In the BJP’s national executive meeting held in the capital on January 16 and 17, it was decided to extend JP Nadda’s tenure as BJP national president till June 2024, which was announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah told that the proposal to extend the tenure of JP Nadda was put forward by the Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and all the members of the National Executive unanimously agreed to it. The tenure of the National President of BJP is of 3 years.

Mohan Bhagwat will also go to Kolkata
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will address a public meeting at the Shaheed Minar ground in Kolkata on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Mohan Bhagwat will attend a program of the organization on January 23, on the occasion of the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, where the Sangh chief can give important messages on sensitive issues like amended citizenship law, birth control bill. Preparations for this meeting are going on in full swing. According to Sangh sources, Mohan Bhagwat will talk about Netaji’s ideology, vision and how he fought for the freedom of the country. Thousands of volunteers from across the state will participate in the programme.
