New Delhi/Patna. After the disappointing results of Bihar assembly elections, Congress called a review meeting in Delhi. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reasons for the defeat, listen to the opinions of the leaders and decide the future strategy. This meeting took place at the party’s national office, in which Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were also present. But this meeting was not limited to just political review, many such incidents took place in it which clearly showed that there is uneasiness regarding communication, coordination and leadership within the Congress organization. Some internal news of the closed-door meeting has also come out which is quite interesting.
Rajesh Ram had arrived with resignation
When Rahul Gandhi asked – Where are the remaining MLAs?
According to sources, the second incident of the meeting was even more uncomfortable. When Rahul Gandhi started the review, he told in-charge Krishna Allavaru – call the winning MLAs inside. On this Allavaru said in a low voice – Sir… there are only six MLAs and all are sitting here. It is said that many leaders present in the room kept looking at each other. Rahul Gandhi probably had no idea that Congress was reduced to only six seats in Bihar and that too while being a part of the Grand Alliance. Along with this, it is also being told that when the discussion progressed, the victory of Congress was said to be bigger in comparison to 2010 and it was said that then it had won 4 and now it has won 6, which means our performance is better than the previous one. This very moment of the meeting has become a topic of discussion on social media whether the difference of four and six seats is now considered progress for Congress?
Disagreements were also seen before the meeting
What is Congress’s next strategy?
After the end of the meeting, the official statement said that work will be done on improving the organization, strengthening the booth level and future strategy. But the inside story tells that Congress is still not able to decide whose responsibility is the defeat and what will be the future direction – to fight alone or to continue the politics of alliance. The biggest indication that came out of the meeting is that Bihar Congress is standing between organizational confusion and leadership confusion.
Will change begin in Congress?
The meeting may have formally ended, but the questions within the Congress have now become stronger – in whose hands is the leadership, what is the strategy and will the future be with the alliance or alone? Rajesh Ram’s resignation may have been put on the table for now, but the political signal is clear – Bihar Congress has not only lost the elections, but has also lost direction, communication and confidence. These questions will decide in the coming days whether Congress will move towards reorganization or will it gradually become a marginalized party?
