Khandwa: Elderly farmer could not tolerate JCB walking on the standing crop in the field, died by drinking insecticide

Khandva. A 60-year-old farmer committed suicide by drinking pesticide in his field in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. The incident is of Torni village under Pandhana assembly. According to the information received, the deceased farmer Lalu Wasle was a victim of harassment by the officials of the company that constructed the pond. The farmer’s field comes in Khargone district. His farm was acquired by the company that constructed the pond. Due to non-availability of pond construction, farmer Lalu Wasle had sown gram and wheat in his field.

Although, the farmer has got the compensation for his field, but due to the delay in the construction of the pond, he had taken permission from the authorities to sow the crop. Now that the crop is ready in the field, the pond making company had come to build a pond on the farmer’s field. Pressure was being made on the farmer to remove the crop from the field. The farmer and his family had pleaded with the authorities several times to give him some time. JCB should be run in his fields after harvesting, but ignoring the request, JCB was run in the farmer’s field.

Seeing the JCB trampling his crop, farmer Lalu Wasle got upset and upset. Being hurt, he drank insecticide in his own field. As soon as the farmer got information about drinking pesticide, his son and grandson reached there. The family members hurriedly took the elderly farmer to the hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.

Khandwa’s SDM Arvind Chauhan has said to investigate this incident. People say that there are many such projects in entire Madhya Pradesh including Khandwa which are running late. In such a situation, if the work of digging the pond was done after 15 days, what a big disaster would have come.

The family members of the deceased say that under whose pressure the company got the digging done in their fields. Due to this his family was ruined. There should be a serious investigation in this matter.
