The three host nations automatically fall into pot one, and needless to say they are the weakest three, given that the other nine are the best in the business. We also have a tie, right?
So naturally Scotland would like to draw one from the US, Canada and Mexico. Let’s hope everything goes better than the last time we faced a host country in a major tournament… Ah, Munich.
However, if we take a look at pot two we will see some decent sets.
Scotland can only play one other European nation in the groups, so there is a good chance that Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Japan, Senegal, Iran, South Korea, Ecuador and Australia are lurking.
Perhaps it would be best to divert the European trio in that boat: Croatia, Switzerland and Austria.
A large part of the fourth pot is still to be confirmed. Can you imagine having to go through the play-offs? Wouldn’t we be…?
