Ayurveda suggests some easy solutions to get rid of these. How many people are troubled by sleep disorders these days? According to Ayurveda, the main causes of insomnia (sleep disorder) are increased Vata dosha, weak digestive fire and mental stress. Science says that blue light of mobile, irregular daily routine and stress together reduce the melatonin hormone, which causes insomnia. It is said in Ayurveda that deep and peaceful sleep can be achieved by just doing small tasks before sleeping. These remedies are certified by both Ayurveda and modern science.
Do these measures for good sleep
Distance from screen: Calm your mind completely at least 1 hour before sleeping. Keep your phone, TV, laptop away. Breathe deeply and slowly for 4-5 minutes. If the worries of the day are roaming in your mind, then write them on a paper and put it aside. This makes the mind lighter and sleep comes quickly. Ayurveda says that a calm mind is the first door to good sleep.
Foot Massage: Lightly massage your feet or drink lukewarm water. Before sleeping at night, massage the soles of the feet with desi ghee, sesame oil or coconut oil for 5-7 minutes. This calms the nerves. If you do not want to do massage then just drink a glass of lukewarm water. It calms digestion and brings the body into relaxed mode.
Turmeric Milk: It is beneficial to take some warm drinks before sleeping at night. 30-40 minutes before sleeping, drink warm turmeric milk, Ashwagandha or Brahmi milk, basil-ginger herbal tea. These drinks reduce stress and prepare the body for deep sleep.
Light in the room: Apart from this, keep dim light in the sleeping room. Keep the temperature controlled according to the weather. You can also use the light scent of lavender or sandalwood before sleeping. Regularly adopting these remedies suggested by Ayurveda improves the quality of sleep. There is freshness in the morning and energy throughout the day. However, if insomnia persists for a long time then definitely consult a doctor.
