Moradabad: Pearl cultivation has also started in Moradabad, UP. It was started by Deepak Mehndiratta, nodal officer of Agricultural Training Center of Moradabad. Along with this, he is also training other farmers and making them self-reliant as to how they can become self-reliant by doing pearl farming. Along with this, tips are being given to the farmers that huge profits can be earned by cultivating pearls.
Three percent production is happening in the country
Moradabad’s agricultural scientist Dr. Deepak Mehndi Ratta said that pearl is naturally found inside sheep. There is a living animal inside the sheep, which creates the pearl inside the sheep. Only 3 percent of pearls are being produced in our country and we import the rest. We cannot write anything on pearls or make any holes or if we want to make something then we cannot make them because they break. What happens inside it is that we prepare the pearl not in a natural way but in an unnatural way by becoming a pond.
what is the method
We take sheep for pearls from the sea or from the banks of rivers. After bringing the sheep, surgery is done inside it. There is a nucleus inside it. It is put inside it which is made from sheep powder only. We put two nuclei inside a sheep.
This is how production is done
A small tank is filled with water and the sheep is kept inside it like this. After living for a day or two, he becomes adapted to living in that environment. After that they undergo surgery and keep them in solution. Just like a man undergoes surgery. Similarly, surgery is also done for this. After keeping it outside for two-three days, it is put inside the pond. We also put a net inside the pond and trap the sheep inside the net.
Then we hang it by tying a rope from one corner to the other. The nucleus pricks the animal inside it and it starts forming a layer over it and that layer becomes a pearl. Once inserted, the pearl is ready within 15 to 18 months. The pearls prepared through this process are in great demand in the market and the farmer also gets good profit from it.
