Wheelchair user space flight: Today, a moment is about to come in the world of space, which will break not only the limits of technology but also the limits of thinking. Jeff Bezos’s company Blue Origin is going to launch a special space tour mission today from its New Shepard rocket, in which for the first time a wheelchair user woman will travel in space. This flight shows that space is no longer limited to just selected people, but is rapidly moving towards inclusion and equal opportunity. This mission is an inspiration for millions of people who consider their dreams incomplete due to physical limitations. This step of Blue Origin shows that if the courage is strong, then the journey from land to space can be covered.
This historic flight includes a woman named Michaela Michi Benthaus, who is a wheelchair user as well as an aerospace engineer at the European Space Agency. In 2018, he suffered a serious spinal injury in an accident while mountain biking, after which his life changed completely. But instead of giving up, Michi strengthened his dream related to space. He participated in Zero Gravity research flight and also completed an analog astronaut mission. Now she is going to cross the threshold of space through Blue Origin.
This mission is being known as NS 37, which is the 37th flight of the New Shepard rocket and is also the 16th manned mission flight so far. This flight will take off in the launch window at 9.30 pm Indian time. This entire journey will take about 10 to 12 minutes, in which the rocket will reach a height of 100 kilometers, which is called Karman Line. Beyond this limit, space is considered to begin. Passengers will get to experience zero gravity for a few minutes and also get a chance to see the earth from above.
New Shepard is preparing to launch from West Texas, giving six people a perspective that only space can provide. Our crewed NS-37 mission is targeting liftoff from Launch Site One on Thursday, December 18, with the launch window opening at 8:30 AM CST / 14:30 UTC.
