Many women skip meals due to being busy and are not able to take enough calcium. Many times they do not give priority to health due to family and job. Due to this, the bones in the body gradually start becoming weak, which can cause serious problems in the future.
Dr. Anup Gadekar, orthopedic surgeon from Pune, Maharashtra told Mid Day That working women remain sitting in the same posture for a long time and they start consuming more caffeine. Apart from this, there is deficiency of Vitamin D and Calcium in their body, due to which they are facing the problem of joint pain. About 40% of women under the age of 45 come to the hospital complaining of persistent knee pain, back stiffness, fatigue and posture problems. One out of every three women aged 25 to 35 years has low bone density or is found to be deficient in Vitamin D. This situation has become a silent health epidemic. Symptoms like back pain, knee pain, stiffness in the body and constant fatigue seem mild in the beginning, but if ignored, they can lead to fractures, poor posture and difficulty in walking for a long time.
Now the question is how can women avoid these serious problems? Experts say that these problems can be avoided by good lifestyle, healthy eating habits and regular physical activity. Women should include milk, curd, cheese, soybean, tofu, nuts, green vegetables, dry fruits and fish in their diet. Apart from this, sitting posture should be improved. To overcome Vitamin D deficiency, one must spend some time in the sun. Vitamin D and calcium test should be done from time to time.
