Jammu: In Jammu and Kashmir, the incident of firing at the house of former Congress MLA Chaudhary Mohammad Akram has come to the fore. According to the police, last night some unknown people fired from 12 bore rifle at the house of former MLA Chaudhary Mohammad Akram in Dabana village of Surankot tehsil of Poonch district. In this incident of firing, a street light broke and some shrapnel hit the wall of the former MLA’s house. Chaudhary Mohammad Akram was not present at his home, he is currently living in Jammu. As soon as the information about this incident was received, the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation and started the investigation. Till now it is not known who fired and why.
Police said that preliminary investigation shows that the marks on the wall are of 12 bore rifle pellets. Further investigation is underway. No one has been injured in this incident, but due to this there is an atmosphere of panic among the local people. According to the police, since the house of former MLA Mohd Akram is located in the vicinity of a forest, there is a possibility that a hunter may have opened fire in an attempt to kill the animal, which was a street light near the outer wall of the MLA’s house.
