Rajya Sabha Election: Jitan Ram Manjhi’s statement intensified the stir in Bihar politics. Manjhi said in clear words that if he does not get a Rajya Sabha seat this time, he will not only leave the post of Union Minister, but is also ready to break ties with the NDA.
Patna: Political turmoil started in Bihar regarding Rajya Sabha seats. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi gave a big statement and targeted his alliance NDA. Manjhi said that if he does not get a Rajya Sabha seat this time, he will not only leave the post of minister, but is also ready to break ties with NDA. He accused BJP of dishonesty and breaking promises.
During a program of HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha) party organized in Gayaji, Union Minister and party patron Jitan Ram Manjhi took a very aggressive stand regarding the Rajya Sabha seat. Jitan Ram Manjhi said that at the time of Lok Sabha elections, a promise was made to send him to Rajya Sabha, but now that promise is not being fulfilled. Making direct allegations on BJP, he said that from Lok Sabha to Assembly elections, we the party and they were continuously underestimated. Manjhi said that if this time also there is a breach of promise, he is not going to remain silent.
Be prepared to fight BJP- advice given to son
From the stage itself, Manjhi also advised his son and Hum Party’s National President cum Minister Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman to be prepared for the political fight. He said that if you want to survive in politics, you will have to take risks. He told Santosh Suman, “Don’t lose heart, be ready to fight the BJP. If we are considered weak, we will not shy away from choosing a different path.”
Said humorously – MPs and MLAs take commission
Addressing the workers, Manjhi called for making HAM a national party. He claimed that the party has a strong vote bank in many districts and a target of 100 seats has been set in the upcoming elections. He said that if this goal is not achieved, then the party can also go on the path of agitation and struggle. In his familiar style, Manjhi also raised the issue of commission in politics in witty but sharp words. He said that every MP and MLA takes commission. “I also had Rs 5 crore last time, in which Rs 40 lakh came and we gave that money to the party. If Santosh Suman does not do this, then it is his fault. At least collect the money, if you don’t get 10 per cent then take only 5 per cent,” Manjhi said jokingly.
5 Rajya Sabha seats will be vacant in April
It is noteworthy that five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar are going to become vacant in the coming months, elections for which will be held in April. According to numerical strength, all the seats seem to be going to NDA’s account. In such a situation, the political tussle regarding seat distribution between JDU, BJP and allies has intensified, and this statement of Jitan Ram Manjhi is being considered a big reflection of that pressure.
