AIMIM’s Imtiaz Jaleel threatened Sanjay Nishad and Nitish Kumar in Yavatmal on Hijab controversy. He said that if they had done this in Maharashtra, they would not have gone safely. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Sumaiya Rana lodged a complaint with the Lucknow Police on December 17 against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad.
New Delhi. The issue regarding hijab controversy is becoming heated. Imtiaz Jaleel, former MP of Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM, fiercely attacked Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at an election rally in Yavatmal on Wednesday evening. Threatening both the leaders, Jalil said, “The minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Chief Minister of Bihar dared to remove the niqab of a Muslim girl… it is good that it was not done in Maharashtra… otherwise they would have known where they were… they would not have gone safe.” AIMIM leaders did not stop here. He further said, “Such leaders are ghosts of kicks… they do not believe in words… they are intoxicated with power… if they come forward… we will show them their status.”
A political controversy has erupted after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar removed the hijab from the face of a Muslim woman during a government program in Patna on December 15. A day later, on December 16, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad created another controversy with his comments defending this action of the Bihar Chief Minister. However, later he first tried to justify it and later also said that if anyone felt bad then he would withdraw his statement.
Angered by the statement, Congress and Samajwadi Party have demanded an unconditional apology from the minister. The Congress also demanded that action be taken against the Uttar Pradesh minister if he did not apologize for his allegedly shocking comment ‘What would have happened if he had touched somewhere else’.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Sumaiya Rana lodged a complaint with the Lucknow Police on December 17 against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad. He said that there is immense resentment among women after watching the video clip of Bihar Chief Minister drawing the account of a woman.
While talking to ‘PTI Video’, Sumaiya said that she herself also wears hijab. If something like this had happened to her, she would not have remained silent. He said that the complaint also mentions indecent and objectionable comments of Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad regarding this matter. Sumaiya said that he has given a written complaint about this in Kaiserbagh police station and demanded to register a case.
Accusing the police of procrastinating in this matter, he said that initially he was sent from Kaiserbagh to Gautampalli police station, after which his complaint was finally accepted and the police said that FIR would be registered only after investigation.
Sumaiya said that the police have not registered the case yet. He warned that if the police do not take action, the party will further intensify its agitation on this matter. He said that Nishad had made such ‘absurd comments’ earlier also and his latest statement has been condemned by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and senior leader Dimple Yadav. Kaiserbagh Assistant Police Commissioner Ratnesh Singh told PTI on Wednesday evening that the matter is currently being investigated and further action will be taken based on its outcome.
