Ghaziabad Regional Passport Office will organize Passport Lok Adalat on 11th December, in which Regional Passport Officer IFS Anuj Swaroop himself will settle the pending files on the spot. Only 50 applicants will get the chance.
Ghaziabad. If your passport is stuck after application and you are not getting any update, then now there is good news. Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad is setting up ‘Passport Lok Adalat’ for the first time. In this, the pending applications will be disposed of in a single day. This special Lok Adalat will run on December 11 (Thursday) from 3 pm to 5 pm. Regional Passport Officer IFS Anuj Swaroop himself will be present in room number 320 of the Passport Office located at Hapur Customs, Kamla Nehru Nagar.
The court will talk to each applicant face to face, look at the documents and at that very moment will dispose of the file by declaring it pass or deficient. Passport officer Anuj Swaroop said that the files of many people remain stuck for years due to small deficiencies. Someone gets stuck in police verification, someone’s address is not clear. In this Lok Adalat, we will resolve 50 such selected cases on the spot.
This is being done on the instructions of the Ministry of External Affairs so that people do not have to make repeated trips. People whose passport is pending for a long time, they can register in advance. The office has said that 50 applicants will get the chance on first-come-first-served basis. Registration can also be done over phone or email.
The passport office has clarified that this is only for old and pending files. New applications will not be taken here. Also, only applicants from districts like Ghaziabad, Noida, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar etc. can participate. This initiative of the Passport Office will provide relief to people troubled after passport application.
