In the Hindu Vedic calendar, Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Paush month has been described as very important for these students. Haridwar’s astrologer Pandit Shridhar Shastri told that Safala Ekadashi of Paush month is considered especially fruitful for those students who have difficulty in concentrating on studies or who are afraid of exams. He says that by observing Saphala Ekadashi fast as per the method described in the scriptures, students achieve both mental concentration and success.

Pandit Shastri told that to start the fast, take bath in Brahma Muhurta. If bathing in Ganga is not possible then add a few drops of Ganga water in the bathing water. After this, taking a resolution of fasting and reciting Vishnu Sahasranama and chanting the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya’ 108 times is considered extremely fruitful. He also said that by donating white clothes, white sweets, silver or pearl necklaces to the needy on this day, the auspicious results are multiplied.
