BJP Bengal: Suvendu Adhikari defeated Mamata Banerjee in a tight contest in Nandigram seat. His success is being seen as a psychological victory for the BJP.
Kolkata. After the results of the assembly elections in Bengal, it took more than a month for the BJP to re-position itself in the field. On June 7, state president Dilip Ghosh had called a review meeting. Let us tell you that Mukul Roy and Rajib Banerjee did not reach this meeting. Meanwhile, a day before this meeting, BJP leader and MLA Suvendu Adhikari reached Delhi. During this, he met Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Dharmendra Pradhan and Narendra Singh Tomar there. Apart from this, the officer had a one to one meeting with BJP President JP Nadda and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with this, he also met Home Minister Amit Shah twice in two days.
Interestingly, the top BJP leaders in Bengal were not aware of the official’s visit to Delhi. Dilip Ghosh said, ‘I don’t know why Suvendu Adhikari has gone to Delhi. Our central leader will be in a better position to say why he is there. Even Adhikari did not reach this meeting.

One more thing is interesting here that two BJP MPs who attended that meeting in Kolkata – Arjun Singh and Soumitra Khan also reached Delhi by evening flight. Apart from this, Nisith Pramanik, an MP from North Bengal, was also involved with them. All of them met with the officer in Delhi. All three leaders had distanced themselves from the Trinamool Congress before the 2019 general elections. And all three said that they were asked to meet immediately by the officer.

These developments indicate that the officer tried to consolidate his position, which is much larger than the role he is currently assigned and formally assigned. At present, he is the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly. Political observers have indicated that officials want to establish themselves as a natural choice for the party’s face in Bengal.
Let us tell you that the officer had defeated Mamata Banerjee in a tight contest in Nandigram seat. His success is being seen as a psychological victory for the BJP. The signs are clear that after the BJP’s unexpected results in Bengal, the Center may take drastic measures on the Mamata Banerjee government at the earliest. In such a situation, great responsibility can be entrusted to the officer.
