Now a video of famous storyteller Aniruddhacharya Maharaj i.e. Puki Baba is going viral. Actually, worship of God has special importance in Hindu religion. Most of the people who have faith in God do not forget to burn incense sticks in front of God. In such a situation, a person asked Puki Baba, “Maharaj, is it right to light incense sticks with a lighter?” On this the saint gave such a reply that it went viral on social media.

Agarbatti or incense stick… what is right?
Burning of incense sticks is not mentioned anywhere in the scriptures. There is talk of incense sticks everywhere. According to the beliefs of Hindu religion, bamboo is used in making biers. But bamboo is not burnt in cremation. Therefore, burning incense sticks made of bamboo during worship is not considered auspicious. Bamboo is worshiped in marriage, sacred thread, mundan etc. In weddings, mandap is made and decorated from bamboo. Therefore, burning incense sticks made of bamboo is considered prohibited in worship rituals.
