Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag questioned Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Manish Pandey for batting slower in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He said that he did not bat aggressively at the time of need.
He said that it happens many times, even after being set, you do not get such balls, on which big shots are able to play. The same happened with Manish. Kolkata bowlers bowled him slow, yorker balls. For this reason, he could not play big shots.
Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra praised KKR captain Eoin Morgan for this. He said that Manish Pandey takes more shots like mid-wicket and long on. By the time the mid-wicket fielder was within a thirty yard circle. Till then, he kept scoring runs. But as Captain Morgan sent Fielder back. He started having trouble scoring runs. Morgan may have delayed doing this though. But his strategy worked to stop Manish Pandey.

Sunrisers team had scored 100 runs for two wickets in 12 overs against Kolkata. 88 runs were needed to win it in the last 8 overs. But after the dismissal of Johnny Bairstow in the 13th over, Hyderabad’s innings faltered. Manish Pandey could not bat well in the death over. He got only one six in the last two overs. Apart from this, the Hyderabad team made another mistake. After a better strike rate in the IPL, Abdul Samad was sent after Mohammad Nabi and Vijay Shankar. Nabi scored 14 off 11 balls and Shankar scored 11 off 7 balls. Samad, who came after him, scored an unbeaten 19 off 8 balls thanks to two sixes. But due to high run rate and low balls, he could not win the match to Hyderabad.
