Just before Christmas, a strange problem is emerging for iPhone users. After iOS 26 update, many people have noticed that their photos are appearing red tinted in the Photos app, even though they have not changed any filter or setting. This problem may seem shocking at first glance, but there is no need to panic because it is a software bug.
The strangest thing about this bug is that when you scroll through the gallery, the photos appear in normal colors. But as soon as you open a photo in the Photos app, a red layer automatically starts appearing on it. At the same time, if the original version of the same photo is seen, the colors in it are absolutely correct. It is clear from this that this is not the fault of the camera or the photo, but a bug of the Photos app present in iOS 26.
How to do it right?
The good thing is that no technical help is required to fix this problem. If your photo is showing red:
- Open the photo in the Photos app
- Tap on Edit
- Then click on Revert
- By doing this the red filter will be removed and the photo will return to its original color.
Why is this problem happening?
According to reports, this bug is especially visible in those photos which are taken from non-iPhone devices (like Android phones) and later transferred to iPhone. It seems that the Photos app is not able to recognize the colors of those photos correctly, which is causing this red tint problem.
What will Apple do next?
Apple has not yet given any official statement regarding this bug. However, the company has recently released iOS 26.3 beta update. At present there are not many new features in it, but it is expected that this problem will be fixed in the final update coming in January 2026.
Apart from this, iOS 26.3 may also come with features like simplifying data transfer between Android and iOS. Due to European Union (EU) rules, Apple and other tech companies are having to make such changes, the benefits of which are now being benefited by the users.
