What is market cap?
Market Cap (Market Capitalization) is the total market value of any company i.e. what is the total value of that company in the stock market, this market cap tells.
Market Cap = Current share price × Total outstanding shares of the company
Suppose the share price of a company is Rs 100 and its 10 crore shares are available in the market, then the market cap will be 100 × 10 crore = ₹ 1,000 crore, that is, the value of the company according to the stock market is Rs 1,000 crore.
