From the chiseled look to the sharp eyes and impeccable expressions, Gautam is seen portraying the role of an army officer who doesn’t even care to risk his life for the sake of his country.
Talking on this, he says, ‘It has been an amazing experience to play the role of Major Summer in the film. This character is very strong and I am glad that the audience is giving it a good response. It was a physically and emotionally challenging role and I have tried to play it well. Army officers are our true heroes and it is an honor for me to play the role of Major Samar. ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’ stars Gautam Rode, Akshaye Khanna and Vivek Dhaiya.
About Akshardham attack
On 24 September 2002, two armed terrorists attacked the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar. The terrorists killed 33 people and injured 80 people, including a National Security Guard (NSG) commando and two Gujarat Police officers. Two terrorists identified as Ashraf Ali Mohammad Farooq and Murtaza Hafiz Yasin were gunned down by NSG commandos.
Directed by Ken Ghosh, ‘State of Siege: Temple Attack’ also stars Vivek Dahiya and Gautam Rode. In a statement, the director had said that the film is a tribute to India’s NSG commandos, who are always ready to risk their lives to protect us. It will premiere on July 9 on Zee5. Earlier, the web series ‘State of Siege: 26/11’ was also released on Zee5, which revolved around the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
