Last year, the Indian Council for Defense Purchase approved a proposal to buy 21 MiG-29 fighter aircraft from Russia. Russia also said in February that the Indian government is willing to buy these planes.
This offer has been submitted at the ongoing International Aerospace Show in Moscow. The show will run till July 25. India wants to meet its fighter jet needs by buying 21 new MiG-29 aircraft from Russia. The Indian Air Force has three squadrons of MiG-29 aircraft.
On the other hand, the Russian aircraft maker on Tuesday introduced the initial model of its new fighter aircraft which is equipped with stealth (not visible to enemy radar) capability and other state-of-the-art features. Inspected a potential warplane on display at the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky, outside Moscow.
The new design was made by aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi under the LTS (Russian abbreviation for Light Strategic Aircraft) program. He said the new design could be changed to a pilotless version or a two-seater version.
